The Yakima HalfBack 2 Bike Rack carries two bikes on the trunk or hatch of your car, hatchback, van, or SUV. The HalfBack 2 combines unique styling with affordability with a new modern 4 strap design to compliment the curves of today's vehicles. The HalfBack features SuperCush padding, ZipStrip attachment straps, and Anti-Sway cradles for easier loading and greater protection for your bikes. Coming in at only 21 pounds the HalfBack 2 is also easy to install and store when not in use.

Modern, 4 strap design

The HalfBack 2 features a new modern design which matches the look of today vehicles design and only uses 4 straps, two at the top of your trunk or hatch and two at the bottom of your trunk or hatch, to attach the rack to your vehicle. This makes it easier to install and remove the rack.

Easy to use ZipStrips

Attaching your bikes is easier than ever using Yakima's ZipStrip attachment straps. These straps which have gained popularity on the Yakima RidgeBack and FullTilt hitch mount racks are quick to attach and remove and are easier on your fingers compared to rubber stretch over straps.

SuperCush padding protects your bike

The cradles of the HalfBack feature SuperCush padding which protect your bike from scrapes and scratches while carrying your bike to your favourite cycling destination.

Anti-sway cradles

Each bike is held in place by three ZipStrips, two onto the crossbar of the bike, and one onto the seat post of your bike. This prevents the bike from swaying back and forth while driving.

Light weight design

Weighing in at only 21 pounds the HalfBack 2 is convenient to install and since it also folds down when not in use is also easy to store in your garage, shed, or condo storage.
