Yakima StageTwo - 2 Bike Rack - Anthracite - Fits 2" Hitches

The Yakima StageTwo Anthracite 2 inch is a premium, platform, tire mounted hitch bike rack. The StageTwo works by securely attaching onto the front wheel just in front of the forks, you then strap your rear wheel in place. This allows it to carry the widest range of bikes without contacting the frame of your bike causing potential scratching or damage.

Stadium bike positioning

In order to ensure that your bikes fit onto the rack properly and don't make contact with one another the StageTwo utilizes stadium bike positioning. This means that the outside bike tray sits 2.4" higher then the inside bike tray. There is also 11 inches between the bike trays to help prevent bike contact and lastly each tray has 6 inches of side to side adjustable to off set handlebars and saddles.

Fits modern bike standards and geometry

By attaching onto the front and rear wheel only the StageTwo has the ability to fit a wide range of bikes. Out of the box the StageTwo will carry bikes with up to a 52" wheel base and tires as large as 3.25". The adjustable ratching arm gives you the ability to carry smaller kids bike with a minimum of 16" tires all the way up to big 29ers. If you have a fat bike or plus bike you can purchase the available fat bike straps separately.

Easy rear of vehicle access

The StageTwo has an ergonomic dual access lever on the front of the bike rack giving you the ability to tilt the rack down with your bikes loaded in order to get into your back hatch or trunk. This same handle can be used to fold the bike rack up to the back of the vehicle when the bikes are not loaded making it easier to park in tighter spots.

Fully locking

The StageTwo includes a cable lock built into each of the arm hooks to lock your bikes onto the rack. Once you have tightened the rack into your hitch receiver using the Yakima SpeedKnob you can then lock the knob as well to prevent someone from being able to remove the bike rack from your vehicle. Lastly the StageTwo includes a BYOL (Bring your own lock) feature the gives you the ability to add additional locks

Adaptable to carry up to four bikes

The StageTwo can be made to carry up to four bikes using the Yakima StageTwo +2 Add-On (sold separately). This is done by removing the folding release handle from the rear of your two bike rack. The StageTwo +2 is then inserted into the end of the StageTwo and the folding release handle is installed onto the end of the Add-On.

RV Approved

The Yakima StageTwo is APPROVED for use on RV's. If the distance from the rear axle to the hitch pin hole on the trailer hitch is 72" or greater than the weight capacity of the StageTwo is reduced to 60lbs per bike.

The Yakima StageTwo is NOT APPROVED for use on a travel trailer, 5th wheel trailer, or towed vehicle.
