New Telescoping Tray

The Thule Sprint is the first roof mounted bike rack on the market to offer a telescoping tray. What this means is rather then sliding the wheel strap back and forth to attach onto your bikes rear tire you can adjust the whole tray back and forth. This gives the bike rack a cleaner look on the roof of your vehicle and a more custom fit to each of your bikes. This also allows more clearance on hatchback vehicles and prevents the back of the tray from hitting your spoiler or rear window. The tray is repositioned by loosening the wheel adjustment knob on the underside of the bike tray and sliding the tray to the required position and then retightening it to lock the tray in place.

Easy to Use Sprint Knob

The 528 features what is known as the Sprint Knob, this is an exclusive knob to the Sprint bike rack allowing you to tighten the fork clamp to the proper amount of pressure for your bike. How this works is by setting your bike racks forks onto the skewer assembly and the tightening the Sprint Knob until it clicks signalling that proper tension has been achieved. This prevents over tightening on your forks, especially important on carbon fibre forks.

SpeedLink Universal Attachment System

The Sprint utilizes Thule’s patented SpeedLink technology allowing you to quickly install the bike rack onto your crossbar systems so you can get more time in on the trails. The Speed Link hardware features Thule’s new toggle tightening mechanism which can be rotated 90 degrees allowing you to get extra leverage. The SpeedLink hardware is designed to fit many types of crossbars including Thule Squarebars, Thule Aeroblade bars, Yakima Roundbars, Whispbar Roof Bars, as well as most factory installed crossbar systems.

Protective Wheel Strap

Lastly the wheel strap on the 528 features a Rim Protector which is designed to be centered over the rim and used to protect it from scuffs and scratches. Not only does the wheel strap protect your rim is also provides a more secure attachment point for the best of both protection and secure holding.

The Thule Sprint will also be available as the The 569 Thule Sprint T-Track. The 569 will include hardware that fits directly into the top slot on Thule Aeroblade and Thule Aeroblade Edge roof rack systems. No need for hardware that wraps all the way around the bar just a plate system that slides into the track. This provides and lower profile and a cleaner look. The 569 Sprint T-Track will also fit into the slot on top of some factory crossbars such as those from Volkswagen, Audi, and BMW.
